I was so happy when I got this. If you have had to move a patient in the bed you will understand how this works and how great it is. You just let the patient lay on the pad, either slide it under them one side at a time or maybe they are just staying on it. When they need to be moved up in the bed you have somebody on both sides of the bed and hold one of these sewn in handles and just pull right on up. Makes it so much easier. I had my mother bedbound for a bit and we had a heck of a time moving her just using a folded sheet and tucking under her. Having these handles to hold onto for the care taker is great. I was so happy with this mat. I highly recommend for anybody that is dealing with somebody that is bed bound and needs to be moved.

The 3-layer design of this pad definitely feels more substantial and protective for the patient than a simple sheet with handles. My father, who is very frail after his cancer treatment and has lost a lot of muscle mass, says he feels much more secure and less “manhandled” when we’re repositioning him. Washable waterproof transfer pad is amazing! It is strong and large, covers the middle part of the bed of my disabled relative. It is also soft, but very sturdy. It is not made to be beautiful, but looks good.
I put it on the bed and covered it with a waterproof pad, that is pleasant to the touch. I managed to move the disabled person on my own, without any help. Just grabbed the handles and pulled her up closer to the pillow. We were both surprised how easy it was. I could never do it alone before.
I didn’t need to get my relative out of bed, but I am sure two people can easily do it with the help of this pad.

Excellent item, durable, good construction and secure straps! Really makes moving someone in the bed and turning much easier and safer for person care partner due to removing friction from the bed mobility. Place a regular church pad or folded sheet over this for comfort for the person.
